Service Advisor

Huntsville Marine is pleased to offer an opening for Service Advisor at our full-service marina. We are conveniently located on Highway 60 and the four-lake chain including Fairy Lake, Lake Vernon, Peninsula Lake and Mary Lake which provides over 40 miles of boating enjoyment.

Duties

  • Serve as the liaison between the customer and the service department including the service manager and staff of technicians – including:
  • Greet customers and determine needs, translate customer needs into clear and concise instructions for technician workorders
  • Prepare work estimates and obtain customer approvals for repairs
  • Answer incoming emails/calls to the Service department and returning customer emails/calls
  • Looking up parts for customers
  • Ensure efficient scheduling and workflow for staff of 5+ Technicians through peak season and off-season work volumes in collaboration with the Service Manager:
  • Coordinate and ensure the parts needed for work orders are on hand for routine and special-order jobs
  • Coordinate the service intake, preparation and delivery of major items including boats, motors, and trailers from the Sales Department
  • Coordinate with manufacturer’s warranty estimates, repairs, approvals, and special-order parts as required
  • Coordinate the delivery schedule and booking commitments with staff drivers for all outgoing service and sales items as well and incoming service calls
  • Manage end to end workflow for the service department including:
  • Collect, process and document point of sales information, service and maintenance history from customers
  • Price and complete workorders as necessary for storage intake and outflow, repairs and internal service needs including sales and rentals
  • Parts and accessories management by ordering, ensuring stock and fast-moving items are kept in required quantities on hand for parts department and showroom

Qualifications:

  • Customer service experienceGood interpersonal communication skills and willingness to work in a team
  • Experience in marine industry an asset including working knowledge of boats and marine engines
  • Experience with Lightspeed or a marine oriented point of sale system considered an asset (training or updated training can be offered)
  • General computer experience (experience with Microsoft suite including excel)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work product
  • Must be reliable, punctual and ready to work with a positive attitude each and every day, presenting proper dress code as required
  • Must be available to work a regular schedule that includes necessary weekend work in busy season. Monday-Friday in the offseason
